Marco y Isabela

Brazilian-born Marco and Melbourne native Isabela relocated to Sydney in 2016, bringing with them a deep love for the traditional Dominican style at a time when sensual and fusion bachata dominated the scene.

Trained under masters in Santo Domingo, they dance with the raw authenticity of bachata roots — close connection, syncopated footwork, that defines the genre's origins in the barrios of the Dominican Republic.

Their mission : to honour the music and the culture it comes from.

That conviction has earned them a loyal following not just in Australia and New Zealand but across Southeast Asia.
